As a so-called "White" person who had the privilege to attend Howard University's Inabel Burns Lindsay School of Social Work, here in DC, for my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work (1984-1986), I can attest to the spiritual and humanitarian values that an HBCU encourages in the pursuit of equity and social justice for all people. Academic and intellectual achievements are only a part of the pursuit of higher education. The development of a moral, ethical and compassionate human being is the other part of true education. So blessed to be part of Bishop Barber's army of moral leadership. We must all become "repairers of the breach" in this fractured & violent society, or we should not call ourselves "educated".
