Today North Carolina showed up from the mountains, from the Piedmont, and from the Black Belt counties down East. We came from Granville and Warren and Vance Counties - what we call the historic wellsprings of rebellion against authoritarian and white supremacy and tyranny. And we came from the Triangle. We all came together to pledge that we shall love forward together.
We were blessed with sunshine from above and gifts of testimony, proclamation, spoken word, and theomusicology. We even got a special Valentine from our friend Willie Nelson.
But as powerful as today was, it’s just the beginning of the work that will reconstruct our democracy. Between now and November 3, we’re launching a nonpartisan, people’s movement to educate every citizen in NC District 1 and 3 about what’s happening here.
For 262 days, we’re splitting up into teams and going county-by-county, precinct-by-precinct, to talk to the people who nobody talks to.
We’re not just going to talk to Democrats or Republicans or Independents. No, that’s not our measure of who has power in this election. This nonpartisan effort is going to focus on the massive bloc of low-income and infrequent voters who have the power to determine elections in every place.

Sign up for a phone bank or a text bank to reach infrequent voters in North Carolina.
Sign up to host a local civic education meeting in your community ahead of November 3.
Sign up to host a Souls to the Polls event during early voting and same-day registration.
Sign up to do civic education about the power of infrequent low-income voters thru social media.
