I heard something hopeful on the Contrarian substack today regarding this decision. Norm Eisen of the States United Democracy Center noted that the Court opinion provided a roadmap for how to get a nationwide decision about birthright citizen - by submitting a nationwide class action suit, which his organization is planning on doing quickly to make the most use of the 30 day reprieve. Meanwhile we must continue to rise up and make our voices heard. We can't let up!

Justice Roberts, from the Supreme Court of In-justice, him most notably, but the other conservatives as well, do not like or shy away from ''class action lawsuits", which in their ruling has suggested, that is the remedy for against their own rulings, but it makes me wonder, what does happen when those massive lawsuits against Trump and his unlawful actions reach their bench, will they rule for Trump as does their political ideology seem to dictate for they loudly or obviously wear it on their sleeves when they dispense their rulings or otherwise edicts from on high

This Congress and this court have undermined their own integrity and legitimacy by failing to perform their essential functions as checks and balances on the power of the Executive Branch. They are enabling rather than opposing tyranny. We the people must rise up and stand up for justice and liberty.

They are enabling their own demise. Why do they overestimate their immunity?

They are calculating on complacency, or enough that force and the threat of ruin (they not only have the guns and the goons, they have the data) will deter the backlash and postpone the reckoning.

Autocracy will defeat Democracy if the people stay home unengaged. And they know the majority of us are afraid or as has been shown have each and every day chosen to doom scroll and wail, clutch their pearls and look for comfort in the work of those who are engaged.

Protesting is not the only form of engagement. There are hundreds of ways we can make "good trouble" united.

Go to INDIVISIBLE.ORG and sign up to be directed to your local tribe. Think local. Engage locally in person or online.

Meetings in person and by Zoom, POST CARD WRITING, PHONE BANKS, PROTESTS, CALLS TO REPRESENTATIVES, DONATIONS TO THE CAMPAIGNS OF RISING STARS FIGHING TO UNSEAT THE GOP.

In the small town where I live there will be WEEKLY RALLIES every Saturday throughout the summer with no end date on the calendar. Something I would not know about if I did not search out and than reach out to my "local tribe" by joining INDIVISIBLE.

After close to one year with the "writing on the wall" that our democracy is being taken off life support to die where is the outrage?

Those of us engaged are not working to save democracy so as to ease your anxiety. And if we could we would but we cannot do it without you! Do something! Not once but consistently. United we stand!

The enemy knows the majority of us have chosen to watch and wail Why give them that for to do so is giving comfort to the enemy. To do so is to surrender all of us to autocracy.

My guess is that you are an older woman who protested in the 60's, 70's and/or 80's. We know the power of the People and the determination to preserve what freedoms and rights we were GIVEN during our lives.

You and I know what we lived with until female, POC rights etc. were enacted to allow millions to advance towards the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Equality with white males is still out of reach for females and others.

I have never been so alarmed by the forces that are destroying our law/order, democratic republic.

People are waiting for something to save it and us. WE are the only ones who can change the future. WE have the purchasing power, work, voices, bodies that can form a new and better democratic ruled country.

The Revolution, Civil War, Trump/GOP Coup--these are the tests for how much We the People want freedom, law/order, democratic rule, curbs on abuses of power to limit "life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness."

I'm so ashamed of those who stay on the sidelines through laziness, ignorance and self-centered reasons.

Thank you, Reverend Barber and Jonathan W-H, for these words. The moral injury is just so, so bad! But we must somehow pick ourselves up and put one foot in front of the other. Thank you for your leadership.

The following statement from your essay is not accurate- I personally have been married or not married depending on which U.S. state I found myself in: “Today’s decision means we could actually have different basic rights depending on the states we live in – a place we haven’t been in as a nation since the Union won the Civil War and guaranteed citizenship to all people who had formerly been enslaved as property in some states.”

We need a massive protest on July 4th to take back our flag and our country. 15-20 million people. We need another No Kings protest that is really a celebration of the ideals of this country and the constitution and liberty and justice. Do not go to a 4th of July parade, go to a No Kings protest instead… I have never felt more patriotic marching in Oakland with tens of thousands of people a few weeks back who oppose the tyranny in this country for the last 156 days.

Anyone in And around Louisville want to join me? With a sign or distress flag.

Yes please get the States to hold parallel actions.

I am doing this unofficially in Kentucky. Broadcasting the live stream from my cell phone. I began today and will repeat the action all week.

All are welcome to join me at 10:30 am downtown Louisville at the Clerks office in Jefferson. This week and each moral Monday going forward.
