So what's the answer? The military could have refused the orders but they didn't, Congress could have clearly declared it illegal before he took action, but they didn't. How do you hold him accountable and restrict his power?

He did not take it to Congress, he did not tell any Democrats what he was doing.

This was an illegal act of war.

He shared it ahead of time with multiple congress members AND he made a public statement he would decide in two weeks. THAT minute he said HE would decide the entire congress should have said WTAF are you talking about YOU don't decide when to go to war. They all just sat there with their shit eating grins. I'm so sick of 90% of our elected officials on both sides of the aisle.

It takes two to tango and only one party, the democratic party, that cares, that gives a dam, the other, is too busy sucking up to Trump, their dear fearless leader, yes Mr. President, anything you want Mr. President

Do you feel that the democratic party is doing all they can? I read a really scary opinion, by an extremely right wing congressman, who said a LOT of senators are something like war pimps (can't remember exactly quote). He said red and blue districts depend on the war industrial complex for jobs and they are not as opposed to senseless war as we would imagine. He said that he has an 18 year old daughter who he doesn't want to see go to war. Tulsi Gabor, a seasoned combat veteran, is also against it. I really don't know what to think of her. I met her when she was a progressive presidential candidate and I was very impressed with her sincerity and extremely down to earth demeanor. The world is definitely up side down when Marjorie Taylor Green says something that makes sense (she's 100% against entering into a war with Iran).

This action didn't come out of a vacuum. It was precipitated by decades of bipartisan support of military action in the Middle East. Republican presidents with both Dem and GOP Congresses, and Democratic presidents with both GOP and Dem Congresses.

This essay is disingenuous to repeatedly call out Trump without calling out the Democrats (just about all of them) who are also in favor of the genocide in Gaza and now this escalation. It puts this platform in the position of being a shill for the Democrats.

The people are against the genocide in Gaza and they are against this escalation. Both the Republicans and the Democrats are for it. Name it.

In watching an interview with former Secretary of Energy Earnest Moniz this afternoon, who is a nuclear physicist and was a critical figure in negotiating a nonproliferation agreement with Iran before Trump tore up the agreement, stated that we’re no safer now than before Trump bombed the nuclear facilities in Iran this past weekend, which reminds me of the many hundreds and thousands of brilliant scientists and government workers whose jobs were terminated so that Trump could surround himself with ‘yes’ people who have absolutely no understanding or ability to do the work of those they replaced. This applies across the spectrum — from the Department of Homeland Security, DOD, DOJ, Health & Human Services, to nearly all programs & services. I’m so damn angry that so many people were stupid enough to believe Trump was such a great businessman and didn’t think about this shit ahead of time. God’s will, I hope these selfish fools are the ones who end up suffering the most.

Trump said he was going to stand up for working people, but he handed the government over to a billionaire before their big bad breakup.

He said he’d👉 bring prices down, but his wild talk about tariffs has created economic uncertainty.

He said his budget was big and beautiful, but the Americans people 🤬👉have seen that it is a big, greedy, ugly, destructive, and deadly proposal to slash Medicaid, take nutrition assistance away from hungry children, and 🤬👉sell off America’s public lands in order to give the wealthy a tax break and🤬👉 pay for more masked men to terrorize US communities.

Trump👉 is desperate for a win, and he decided that Netanyahu’s attacks on Iran’s air defense systems gave him a window to take action and look strong. But this is not a win for the prospect of peace, nor for the American people.

Just two weeks ago, Trump illegally deployed troops to an American city without authorization from Congress. Now he has gone to war without consulting the branch of government that the Constitution grants exclusive power to declare war. The attack on Iran is a radical extension of Trump’s extreme 👉notion that the office of the Presidency gives him power to do whatever he wants with the vast resources of the US government.

We need to start distinguishing between lying and spreading propaganda. He persuades people to accept what he is saying is truthful. That is propaganda.

That is why the cult who believes in his propaganda cannot see beyond the end of their noses that the man is a lying conman and bigot and his enablers are there to exploit them further. He is a master illusionist.

I'm not 100% sure of the cognitive decline. He knows when to lie, to shift the narrative, to do the cruel things that keeps his MAGA base clinging to him and rooting him on. The oh I'm really just a stupid old man routine is part of the illusion.

We have to keep up our guard. He knows what he is doing.

What will the consequences be? "All born will taste death." (Quran 29:57) And "I will fill Hell with jinn and humans all - a multitude from every community." (Quran 32:13) If people don't die by way of exploding ordinance they will INEVITABLY DIE some other way - because they were born. But those who dedicate their lives to KILLING OTHERS wanting to LIVE AND PROSPER will die like everyone else who was born and wake up in Hell (Allah Willing) where they will sorely regret having done what they HAD TO DO in order become worthy of Hell as PUNISHMENT - or they will live in Hell forever. Amen?
